2026 Macksville Show – Year of the Horse
The Macksville Show is one of the premier agricultural and entertainment events on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales and continues to draw families and exhibitors from across the region to the Macksville Showground. The upcoming Macksville Show, themed “Year of the Horse,” is scheduled for Friday, April 17, and Saturday, April 18, 2026, promising two days of tradition, competition, and rural hospitality.
Visitors can expect a vibrant program packed with classic agricultural displays and high-energy entertainment. The show features everything from livestock presentations, poultry exhibitions, and horse shows to the rugged thrills of wood chopping and the adrenaline of the Demolition Derby. For those who enjoy the festivities of a traditional country fair, the “side show alley” offers carnival rides and games, while the pavilion showcases the best of local talent through arts, crafts, photography, and garden produce competitions. Unique events like the Dog High Jump and the Tug-Of-War add a spirited, competitive edge to the weekend’s festivities.
The showground also serves as a hub for several local organizations, including the Rusty Iron Rally, the Nambucca River Pony Club, and the Macksville Poultry Club, ensuring a diverse range of interests are represented. To make the event accessible for everyone, organizers provide convenient amenities like online ticketing, camping, and horse stabling for competitors. On Saturday, April 18, a free shuttle bus service typically operates between the Macksville Post Office and the showground gates, helping visitors avoid parking congestion and enjoy a seamless day out at this beloved community tradition.
